The-Legend-of-Tarzan-Movie-2016

Ok, I was not expecting good things from this movie going in. I really had low expectations from what I thought I knew about the film going in, and man what a surprise. Its Tarzan right, so how serious can you take this movie? Well let me start by saying this movie had a more serious story then I thought possible. A really good take on the legend of Tarzan in my opinion. Now I didn’t love the film but I did like it, and here’s why.

Its two main leads had more depth to there characters then I imagined, and both sold me on the roles of Tarzan and Jane. Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgard) did a good job of selling the changed and some what socially awkward Tarzan. With moments that explain his past, this was a good touch into the mythos that is Tarzan and worked really well in the story. Needless to say he had the look down pretty good, buff chiseled body etc.. Now on to Jane, played by the beautiful Margot Robbie! Jane was the most surprising as she brought, not just her good looks but more substance to the role then just your typical damsel in distress. Good acting from both the main leads was crucial, even the story doesn’t revolve around them, they were still an important piece to the puzzle.

LEGEND OF TARZAN

The film is filled with lots of great characters that are all connected to the story in big ways. Characters like that of Chief Mbonga (Djimon Hounsou) were pretty cool and added some good fighting action. Another honorable mention is that of Leon Rom played by Christoph Waltz, the main antagonist of the film. With all that being said, this is still not a great film, but it is good popcorn fun! Filled with Crocodiles, Gorillas, Cheetahs and Hippopotamus the fun is sprinkled throughout the movie. Its over the top action with a serious story, but nothing too special.
