When it comes to comedy in my Superhero movies, Thor Ragnarok pushed it perfectly to it’s limit, but Love and Thunder went above and beyond.

This very whimsical take on the God of Thunder has almost completely changed the character. The slapstick comedy that’s so heavily used throughout the film drowns out the emotion or the more serious moments it has. With that being said there some positive qualities to Thor Love and Thunder.

One big takeaway for me was Jane Foster or, The Mighty Thor. Natalie Portman really nailed this role and came across as a very likable “Thor”. Making this character work was going to be the hardest challenge with this film but they really pulled it off in my opinion. There was some cheesy moments with her but I blame that on the gratuitous humor rather then her performance. Love and Thunder is also visual candy! Lots of visually stunning shots with great use of color. And even though I’m being critical of the comedy, some parts had me laughing. So there is some fun to be had here I just wish it took itself a little more serious, and maybe I would have too.
